WACC hosts on-line advocacy seminar Print E-mail

 Communicators and advocacy practitioners based in Toronto held a seminar on on-line advocacy at WACC office, February 12.  
Participants at the “on-line advocacy” seminar held at WACC.   
They explored various strategic on-line technologies including websites, electronic mailing and popular social networks such as Facebook and Twitter as effective tools for advocacy and social campaigns.

The forum was facilitated by Urgent Action Coordinator for Amnesty International Canada, Marilyn McKim, o
nline Campaign Coordinator for MakePovertyHistory Eric Squair and Sara Stratton, Campaigns Coordinator for KAIROS.

It was co-hosted by WACC, Africafiles and KAIROS.

Participants were mainly drawn from faith based organizations.

Following the seminar, the participants created a discussion forum on Google to further exchange information on on-line advocacy tools.  The discussions can be viewed on Google groups
